Typical grants include payments for housing costs and utilities, assistance with medical transportation costs and durable medical equipment; books, school supplies and student fees. 

This is just a partial list and all requests are considered individually with distribution of funds at the discretion of the Board of Directors. 

The goal of the Shaw fund is to aid fishing families during times of financial challenge and to work with them and community agencies to establish long term financial stability.
